Zig Zag Young Women’s Resource Centre Inc are now recruiting for a new senior management position of Program and Practice Director commencing in July 2024. This permanent part-time position is for 64 hours per fortnight and remunerated at a SCHCaDS Award Level 6-7 (negotiable) with salary sacrifice available.

Position Details

The Program and Practice Director will have primary responsibility for service Program design, development and evaluation at Zig Zag Young Women’s Resource Centre, ensuring all funded Programs are delivering outcomes and having greatest impact for marginalised young women and gender diverse young people who are experiencing homelessness and/or sexual violence.

  • Provide strategic advice and oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of all service Programs to ensure continuous improvement and best practice, as well as compliance with all relevant legislation and practice standards.
  • Develop solutions to improve organisational capability and responsiveness to meet the diverse and complex needs of marginalised young people and wider communities, including opportunities to support whole of service sector responses.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate outcome measurement tools and social impact of funded Programs across service agreements in line with organisational strategic and operational planning.
  • Prepare and submit reports to key stakeholders, as well as program modelling and analysis to support strategic and operational planning and systemic advocacy.

The Program and Practice Director will also oversee the development of workforce capacity, professional development and team building activities, policy and practice development, frameworks, and strategies to support a culturally safe and critically reflective organisational team culture that inspires and strengthen skills, knowledges, practices and support for all staff to achieve individual and organisational goals.

  • Work collaboratively with senior management staff to resource, mentor, coach and develop a culturally safe and critically reflective organisational team culture that centres young people, applies Zig Zag’s organisational practice values, and ensures the delivery of exceptional service Programs.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of organisational service systems and Program related policy and procedures that promote best practice and supports organisational needs and growth. coordinating and implementing workforce development and capacity building activities.
  • Oversee the development, coordination and implementation of Zig Zag’s professional development and in-service training calendar for all staff, and design and implement team building activities, policy and practice development, frameworks, and strategies to support a culturally safe and critically reflective organisational team culture that inspires and strengthens skills, knowledges, practices, and support for all staff to achieve individual and organisational goals.
  • Support the development and review of Zig Zag’s induction, training and support to new staff and work collaboratively to respond to any organisational issues identified.
  • Design implement, monitor, and evaluate the use of performance appraisal and planning processes.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and work collaboratively to address these issues across all Program areas.

Applicants must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline (e.g., Social Work, Human Services or Business Management). Post-graduate qualifications will also be highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant senior level management experience.
  • A clearly defined practice framework that incorporates intersectional feminist and social justice perspectives.
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s license.
  • Possession of a current Working with Children Blue Card.
