The Role

The Systems Support Officer role is a great opportunity to pair your interest in technology and problem solving with hands on learning and development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn from senior members of the Operational Technology team and be mentored by one of our Senior Systems Administrators.

This role will contribute to Yarra Valley Water’s commitment to provide safe water and sanitation services to our customers and protect our natural environment.

Key Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Initially you will spend time learning about Yarra Valley Water, your team and the systems we use.
  • You will have the opportunity to shadow members of your team and learn tasks in the system as well as complete some analytical tasks in Microsoft Excel or dashboarding systems.
  • As you build up your knowledge and experience, you will take on more complex tasks, and in time, will be able to work through tasks independently as well as take on some programming work.
  • You will be supported and coached along the way and will have the opportunity to complete technical certifications to support your learning.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a passion for problem solving and attention to detail, who is happy to give things a go and ask questions. If you have the following capabilities, please get in touch:

  • Would like to work with (or has experience with) systems, programming and data
  • Qualification in Engineering, IT or Data Analytics (desirable)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
