Based at Deception Bay and working with the Family Support Services team, the Intake and Administration Officer is the first point of contact for all potential clients, their families and referring representatives. You will work across a range of programs and will provide a responsive and professional service to support clients to move through the pre-engagement process to service engagement.

Your role will include:

  • respond to clients and referring agency representatives in a timely and courteous manner
  • determine potential clients’ eligibility for services, referring to other more relevant services if required
  • conduct initial screening assessment and identify any immediate risks, supporting clients to access crisis supports where required
  • monitor program wait lists and liaise with program managers and senior staff to ensure a seamless transition between wait list and program commencement
  • complete administration processes for case files and organisational records
  • liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • maintain knowledge of the local service sector and network relationships with key referrers

what we are looking for

You will bring:

  • passion, commitment and belief in young people
  • diploma level qualifications in a Human Services Discipline and a minimum of two years’ experience undertaking intakes in a community services environment
  • knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of issues impacting families
  • demonstrated ability to establish and participate in networks for the delivery of services to children and families
  • demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, including a well presented and appropriate phone manner and the ability to impart knowledge clearly and effectively
  • demonstrated competence with MS Office, client record management systems and office technology
  • ability to work both independently and within a team environment
