About the Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner role

Step into an exciting part-time Nurse Practitioner role in addiction medicine. Contribute to the development of a new Nurse Practitioner-led Pharmacotherapy service in Melbourne's inner north. Provide expert care for patients with opioid use disorder and AOD presentations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, this is a fixed term part-time role (0.6 FTE) until February 2026.

Your Passion and Commitment will see you:

  • Safely initiate and manage therapeutic interventions in a supportive, inclusive setting
  • Foster collaborative relationships for person-centred, wrap-around care
  • Lead change to implement and innovate a new service benefiting local communities
  • Work within a small, specialised team, supported by general practice and harm reduction services
  • Drive the success of a new service, enhancing community-based healthcare

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Full and unrestricted Registration as a Division 1 Nurse with Nurse Practitioner Endorsement
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, and eligibility for a prescriber/provider number
  • Proven experience in AOD/mental health care as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for community-based health care
  • Victorian Driver’s License
