Your Buddy Services is a registered NDIS provider operating in Victoria. We provide NDIS services with the participant in mind by recognizing that every individual is unique and has their own story. Our services aim is to empower and support our participants in independent living.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our supportive and growing team to work with participants across Melbourne particularly western suburbs of Melbourne to provide support and assistance to people living within their own home or within our adult and children respite homes in western suburbs of Melbourne as per their NDIS plan. This role is suitable for an enthusiastic and caring individual who takes a person-centred approach when supporting people with disability. You will be empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting others to achieve their life goals.

Duties include:

  • Assistance with personal care
  • Assisting the participant one on one in-home
  • Assisting the participant to achieve personal goals.
  • Medication prompting/ administration.
  • Assistance with daily living tasks including meal preparation and domestic assistance.
  • Transport for community access, appointments, and therapies
  • Other aspects as specified by their NDIS plan.

Qualifications & experience

  • Cert 111 qualification in disability, individual support, community care.
  • Strong understanding of Community Care/Home Based Services.
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR qualification.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or the willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Proven track record in being reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable roadworthy vehicle (+ comprehensive car insurance)
  • National Police Check (within 12 months or willing to obtain).
  • Working with Children Check.

Support Worker Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with Participants.
  • Excellent problem solving
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Maintaining OHS practices to ensure Participants safety.
  • Ability to manage and maintain professional development.
