We deliver and co-design personalised, and community-based programs supported by neuroscientific research to address the impact of adverse life events in children, young people, and families.

One of our core programs, The Yili Program, is a short-term alternative education program, invaluable in its uniqueness and flexibility. Young people gain experience in a wide range of activities that build their confidence and self-esteem, which increases their engagement with learning.

We are currently seeking a passionate Case Manager to join our team on a full-time basis for a 3-year contract term, supporting our Yili Program in Inala and Oxley.

About the role:

  • Competitive salary and ongoing development opportunities, particularly relating to neuroscience and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge of cultures and practice.
  • Join a dedicated team in supporting a small group of youth (approximately 3 – 8 kids on a typical day), you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on participant’s ongoing development.
  • Primarily, this role is responsible supporting 10 – 17-year-old high risk youth engage in a range of educational activities conducted by Yiliyapinya Indigenous Corporation.
  • The role will follow a standard 38 work week (8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday).

Your day may include:

  • Collaborating with our Teacher to prepare educational activities, including booking excursions, coordinating transportation, materials and resources.
  • Liaising with service providers and stakeholders to coordinate activities and support participants.
  • Carrying out risk assessment processes as needed.
  • Work closely with the Teacher to carry out educational activities in both group and 1:1 settings.
  • Supervise, engage, and guide youth during lessons and activities.
  • Assist in administrative tasks, including completing pre-activity paperwork, collecting participant information and maintaining accurate records of lesson attendees, grades, and notes.
  • Establishing rapport with students and enforce behaviour guidelines.
  • Addressing special needs and providing support for 'at risk' students.
  • Attend meetings with external stakeholders and provide valuable input.
  • Case Manage with the Yili team all young people.

Our ideal new addition will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in youth justice, child safety, education or youth work.
  • Experience in settings with exposure to mental health services, such as occupational therapy, social work, psychology, and knowledge of mental health first aid.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high risk youth aged between 10-17.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and both written and verbal communication.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Strong organisation, time management and administrative skills.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with all stakeholders.
  • Culturally safety adherence.
  • Valid Blue Card.
  • Valid Drivers licence.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Up to date with vaccination requirements - dealing with vulnerable people.

Desirable:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or other related discipline.
