Are you a self-starter with a passion to support pregnant women to access services and supports that will make a difference?

  • This is a new position and a chance to create new and effective ways to link across health and community systems and services to get the right supports for pregnant mother at the right time.
  • You will be part of an innovative model of midwifery care based in the YFS Maternal and Child Health Hub and part of the wider Logan Hub network.

About the job

  • Role location: Slacks Creek
  • Role type: Part time - 20hrs per week, 12 month contract
  • Pay range: $38.60 to $41.52 an hour based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available

In this role you will:

  • Working alongside a team of Metro South Midwives, you will engage with pregnant mothers to support their journey toward a healthy and safe delivery.
  • Flexibility and creativity are core components of the role. Your working hours can be negotiated and how you meet the needs of mothers, midwives and stakeholders will be developed together with you.
  • Mothers accessing the YFS Maternal and Child Health Hub have complex psychosocial needs. Your understanding of trauma informed practice will underpin the way you engage with them to link them with key services and supports.
  • You will liaise across multiple YFS and community programs to keep current with changes and opportunities for mothers.
  • Our goal is to improve pregnancy outcomes and set children up for a positive future.
