Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services provides culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-led services supporting Aboriginal people across Darkinjung Country. We are committed to addressing the impacts of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) through healing-centred and culturally responsive programs that empower individuals and strengthen families.

We are seeking a committed and culturally grounded Manager Services to lead the delivery of our ngangga gulgul (Speak Strong) Supporting Recovery, DFSV program. In this leadership role, you will oversee a team delivering holistic support, drive best practice service delivery, and ensure programs are safe, responsive, and aligned with community needs and cultural values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the casework team.
  • Oversee daily service delivery, ensuring culturally safe and trauma-informed care.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement and maintain compliance across the program.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with external organisations and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the needs of community members at community and interagency forums.
  • Facilitate staff development, performance reviews, and team building.

About You

You are a passionate leader who is deeply committed to empowering Aboriginal families and communities. You will bring:

  • Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience in the DFSV or community services sectors.
  • Ability to ensure that all aspects of service delivery are culturally safe and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal clients, respecting cultural protocols and values.
  • Proven skills in managing, motivating, and developing a transdisciplinary team, with a focus on staff well-being, professional growth, and performance.
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of case management principles and the ability to oversee complex cases, ensuring that clients receive high-quality, trauma-informed support.
  • Strong capability in developing and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards, cultural safety, and best practices in service delivery.
  • Skilled in building and sustaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal agencies, government bodies, and community organisations, to advocate for clients’ needs.
  • Effective in handling conflicts or challenges within the team or with clients, using problem-solving skills to identify solutions that support a safe, positive work environment.
  • Strong skills in conflict resolution and critical thinking.
  • Experience in conducting audits, evaluations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to analyse data and implement strategies for service enhancement.
