  • Per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
  • Plus 9.5% superannuation
  • Tenure: 2 days part-time at 0.4 FTE on a 12-month contract (flexible hours can be negotiated)

The Yarra Energy Foundation is a leading climate change response organisation. This 12-month project role will help support the Communications Manager to promote a range of YEF programs and their successes.

The Communications Officer will work closely with community climate action groups and other stakeholders, including metropolitan local councils, to help raise energy literacy and help them access practical information to implement long-term low-carbon solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting copy.
  • Developing communications and marketing materials for social media and website.
  • Providing organisational support for meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Ensuring all communications and marketing materials align with brand guidelines and organisational strategy.
  • Working with colleagues to synthesise information and prioritise key messages to develop impactful communications for targeted audiences.
  • Monitoring and reporting on website and social media analytics.
  • Aligning communications, marketing, and information extension with the Program strategy.

You are proactive, open-minded, and work well with others, and can work autonomously with remote guidance to meet project deadlines and deliverables. You are a fast learner and are committed to ongoing improvement through experimentation and reflection.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Excellent skills writing for different audiences.
  2. Proven ability to work autonomously in a small organisation.
  3. Proven ability to produce engaging content for social media and other digital channels.
  4. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively to deliver communications outcomes with impact.
