You Do You Occupational Therapy is a newly minted Occupational Therapy practice created with the goals of providing data driven and neurodiverse-affirming therapy to neurodivergent adults and children. We operate in person at locations in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland areas and anywhere in Australia through Telehealth.
We are committed to reframing the current focus on the deficits based model by encouraging real neurodivergent expression and identity. We believe that by challenging the concept of disability through the social model that we can reduce and repair unnecessary trauma while supporting each person’s ability to impact the world.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming consultation services to NDIS participants and private clients
- Consult with clients, families, referrers, doctors, employers and other allied health professionals to achieve coordinated outcomes to meet client goals from a capacity building and enablement perspective
- Liaise with the NDIS, Support Coordinators and other external organisations to ensure optimum client outcomes
- Conduct functional capacity assessments and prepare written reports for NDIS applications and reviews
Requirements
- A neurodiversity affirming mindset and a willingness to grow through continuous evidence based learning
- The relevant tertiary occupational therapy qualifications
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Current working with children check or the ability to obtain one
- Current driver's licence and access to own vehicle
- Right to work within Australia

- Working within the NDIS framework and with the NDIA
- Knowledge/lived experience with the neurodivergent
- Assessing sensory preferences
- Working with spreadsheets, web applications and remote service providers
