We are a not-for-profit organisation with a paid staff and volunteer Board. We are independent of governments and transparent in our decision-making.
Working with others, and in partnership with Traditional Owners, we seek to understand and re-energise Melbourne’s rivers ecologically and culturally, bringing back biodiversity and health. Through vibrant advocacy, research, community engagement, corporate partnerships, litter and regeneration programs, we seek to transform urban waterways.
We are at an exciting time in the development of YRKA; with a twenty-year history we are seeking to consolidate our operations as we expand our leadership in the stewardship of urban waterways. The role would suit a flexible all-round community sector manager and leader who cares about the environment. The Manager, Operations will be responsible for managing diverse business operations, including:
While the Operations Manager will coordinate key tasks underpinning our organisational strategy, they will work closely with our Riverkeeper advocates who undertake inspiring community and research projects on the Birrarung and in its tributaries. They will report to the Board and be responsive to the dynamics of organisational values and needs.
A confident leader, you will have strong organisational, financial, and interpersonal skills and be able to deliver operational outcomes in relation to fund-raising and maintain partnerships in support of key projects and priorities. Expertise with financial and project management software systems essential.
You will not only help our organisation thrive but also contribute to our collective vision for the vitality of rivers in the environment. We welcome applications from skilled administrators or managers who like to work closely with a committed team in delivering positive outcomes. You must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for the role.
The Yarra Riverkeeper Association is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer that supports diversity and inclusion.
