About Youth Disability Advocacy Service (YDAS)

YDAS is a core YACVic agency, funded by the Victorian Government. At YDAS, we place the human rights and interests of disabled young people at the centre of our work. YDAS undertakes individual and policy advocacy, working with disabled young people to ensure that their human rights are upheld so they can access services and participate as valued and respected members of their communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Coordinator will work with local councils, youth services and other disability services to reach disabled young people from marginalised backgrounds. They will work alongside other project staff to provide case management to disabled young people so they can access COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Coordinator will also support the Information & Support Officer to coordinate supports when they are needed by disabled young people so they can get vaccinations.

They will also work with YDAS and YACVic Communications staff to implement and deliver the YDAS COVID-19 Vaccination Ambassador program.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have:

1. Demonstrated commitment to the rights and interests of disabled young people.
2. Demonstrated experience in leading project teams and achieving project outcomes in short time frames.
3. Ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with other organisations and agencies.
4. Experience in case management when working with people who experience intersecting forms of marginalisation.
