About the role

This is a full-time position where the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing individualised and tailored support to African Australian jobseekers to help them search for, gain and retain employment.
  • Providing individualised and tailored support to African Australians who ae employed but want to change their employment position.
  • Assist local businesses to meet their skills and labour needs.
  • Meeting program administration, data and information collection and report requirements.

The successful applicant must have the right to work in Australia.

You are passionate about supporting job seekers becoming job ready, then support them search for, gain and retain employment.

Have the skills and flexibility to deliver strength-based programs where circumstances often change.

Key selection criteria

  • Qualifications and/or experience in community development/services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience engaging with CALD communities.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills relevant to a local community, especially Lingala, Arabic or Swahili, would be highly regarded.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the employment, education and/or community services system in the Wyndham and/or Western Metropolitan Region would be well regarded.

Licenses

Applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence.

For the position there is a requirement to hold a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check or the ability to obtain these prior to taking on the role.
