A bit about the role:

The Disability and Positive Ageing Planner sits within our Access Inclusion and Diversity team. The role plays an important part in the work we are doing to further develop and implement the accessibility action plan within council.

You will be responsible for advancing the actions and commitments that are included in our action plan. You will also be working to further develop the inclusive ageing space, particularly in councils action plan for inclusive ageing and the development of Initiatives.

What you’ll deliver

  • A collaborative approach to developing inclusive initiatives, involving a variety of stakeholders
  • Policy development and social research, using monitoring and evaluation skills to ensure quality and success
  • Advice and a comprehensive understanding of the legislation and policy environment surrounding disability and positive ageing
  • Writing and driving action plans towards a positive systemic change around inclusion
  • Providing the drive and motivation to ensure that actions and deliverables are understood and met

What you’ll bring

  • Understanding and previous experience working in the inclusion sector
  • Tertiary qualification in public policy, social sciences or related field
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with experience writing and developing public policy
  • Stakeholder management and engagement skills, driving action, encouraging participation and sharing your passion with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • A positive, curious and flexible mind
