Wunan Foundation is a leading Aboriginal development organisation based in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Its purpose is to ensure that Aboriginal people enjoy the capabilities and opportunities necessary to make positive choices that lead to independent, fulfilling lives.

Wunan is seeking an Administration Support Person to join our People & Services team based in Kununurra.

Key Duties

  • Administer and manage Recruitment process, inclusive of onboarding and offboarding
  • Producing employment documents and reports
  • Liaise with employees and managers on employment administration-related HR queries
  • Management of email inbox and phone as part of a team to address queries including but not limited to employee pay, movements, roster changes, leave queries, general queries relating to employment
  • Participate in periodic People & Services activities (e.g. culture surveys, quarterly reporting) through the provision of administration support
  • Monitor & redirect compliance emails & WHS incident reports
  • Other Administrative duties as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to HR and IR
  • Qualifications in Human Resource, Business Management or other related field or equivalent experience (or willingness to work towards)
  • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously as well as work co-operatively as part of a team
  • A demonstrated commitment to the core mission of Wunan
  • National Police Check/ WWC check
  • Up to date COVID-19 vaccination

Desirable criteria:

  • A strong understanding of Indigenous people in general, and of Indigenous people and communities in the East Kimberley in particular
  • Proven experience in providing administrative support to Senior Management, including experience in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and working as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the use of range of software applications (e.g. MS Office programs)
  • Strong organisations, time management and planning skills.

Pre-employment requirements

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check(not older than 6 months)
  • Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license
