This unique opportunity as Manager, Middle Income Countries Asia Africa will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to drive and manage a team of Country Impact Managers and a Country Information Officer ensuring impact across a broad portfolio of international development programs.

In this role you will lead a team responsible for engaging relevant WV National Offices. You will lead engagement with relevant WV Regional Offices, represent WVA in WV International initiatives and align the team’s portfolio with strategies relevant to WVA and the WV global partnership.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a high-level understanding of the intersection of the long-term Country (CSIP) strategies and the WVA multi-year support strategy
  • Building credible and trusted relationships with key stakeholders within WVA’s Field Impact Group, across WVA and with priority WV National/Regional/Other Support offices
  • Contributing strategically and operationally to foster agility and cross functional engagement for effective generation and communication of impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach team members to deliver quality programming through active participation in design, monitoring and evaluation processes within their country portfolios
  • Actively seek and create opportunities for yourself and team members to build productive relationships with external stakeholders such as ACFID and, Donors (in particular Institutional Donors e.g. DFAT, European Commission)
  • Providing leadership and accountability for compliance, reporting and safeguarding standards for all projects, including meeting DFAT ANCP Accreditation requirements.
  • Role modelling and encouraging a culture of trust, learning, reflection and innovation within teams
  • Contributing to the development of relevant tools, market offerings and guidance.

Who we’re looking for 

To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of the unique needs and requirements of government and multilateral donors within an international development context.

In addition to this:

  • Effective management of small-medium highly skilled professional teams.
  • Experience building productive and positive relationships with offices/organisations based in developing countries understanding of WV processes to support National Offices.
  • Understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, European Commission and/or other international institutions.
  • Experience building and shifting a culture within a team or department.
  • Financial and management reporting; business planning
  • Experience of project management methodologies and theory.
  • Demonstrated application of technical skills in a relevant context (program/project management, NFP/NGO, public service, foundation or other donors).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include Business/commerce, International Relations/International Development, accounting, legal, or a relevant technical field.
