The position

Your role will be to lead with enthusiasm, passion and personality and manage all aspects of a busy café in Blackburn. You will become a force for good within our organisation, sharing in our brands vision and finding ways to bring it to life for our patrons on a daily basis through excellent service, promotions and great communication.

You will have a lot of support from our head of social enterprise to help you get started and that support is ongoing, as you will work closely throughout your time in this role collaborating and implementing engaging promotions.

Your role will require you to effectively lead a team to support our goal of providing a welcoming space to allow our guests to feel nourished, through high quality wholefood offerings, meaningful authentic service and out of the ordinary events. Creating a haven for our amazing customers to feel valued and appreciated. You will also be showcasing what modern ethical business looks like, where we collaborate with small makers and use suppliers who have supply chains free of exploitation and operate with a sustainability focus.

You will find a great work life balance with our operating hours being Mon to Sat daytime only and enjoy your long weekends and Christmas time as we close over public holidays.

The Requirements

  • Proven capabilities in all aspects of day-to-day operational management of a café.
  • The ability to plan ahead and implement ideas from start to finish.
  • Point of Sale system experience.
  • Calm management style, professional and friendly with the ability to handle unplanned hiccups and surprises that occur.
  • An excellent attitude! You enjoy creating a positive work atmosphere that embraces change and supports people’s differences.
  • A thirst for doing things in a sustainable way that makes the world a better place.

The selection process
