Desktop Support Technician

The position

Provide desktop support and troubleshooting for PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals as well as business applications for our internal staff.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st level technical support for desktop, laptop and mobile devices, Windows operating system and applications (incl. Outlook, SharePoint and Dynamics 365, computer peripherals and printers)
  • Manage customer expectations through effective prioritisation and communication
  • Provide 1st level application support across the business portfolio
  • Contributions to continuous process and service improvement, technical procedures and user documentation
  • Assistance with IT improvement project tasks (as requested)
  • Carrying out backup tape rotations, restores and infrastructure environment operational tasks

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.

You will have:

  • Time management and prioritisation skills
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Previously worked in a customer-focused role supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 in the Enterprise
  • Experience with IT Service Management Tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Experience with desktop deployment and software management tools (e.g. SCCM)
  • Mobile device support and troubleshooting experience
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills of Windows PCs, software and mobile devices in a Local and Wide Area Network
  • Basic understanding of ITIL processes
  • SharePoint Online experience highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline
