Country Impact Officer - Remote / Flexible Location

The position

The Country Impact Officer will help maintain WVA’s relationship with a WV National Office/s, including providing assistance to a country impact manager to manage the full portfolio of projects within that office that are funded through WVA.

The role will be required to build collaborative relationships across WVA and engage and support a number of internal and external stakeholders to support WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business.

In addition to this you will:

  • Strategically engage with Field Offices and Implementation Partners to support design, evaluation & stand-up of grant projects and Area Programs, as appropriate
  • Ensure Portfolio is fully compliant and managed to the highest quality, establishing a platform for enhanced engagement with institutional donors, Partner agencies, Corporates, individual supporters and Major Donors
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders including Field Impact, Marketing, Private Funding and Retail to contribute to delivery of Enterprise Business Plan, to coordinate engagement with National Offices
  • Support National Offices to respond to Category I and II humanitarian emergencies
  • Deliver growth within the portfolio by working with WVA’s Grant Acquisition team and technical advisors to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the portfolio
  • Timely review of Area Program annual reports up to a designated threshold for WVA priority National Offices

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with program management experience, ideally with a grant portfolio. You will have cross cultural experience and excellent relationship building skills.

You will:

  • Be keen, energetic and want to learn
  • Have self-managed work experience, with the ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure
  • Have program and project management experience, including an understanding of contracting and contract management as well as risk management 
  • Previously have worked in a similar organisation with overseas experience being advantageous
  • Have an understanding of methods to influence and negotiate with project stakeholders
  • Have a social / international development related degree or work experience (advantage)
