Pandemic Clinic GP - Top End Health Service

We are requesting expressions of interest for motivated and enthusiastic GPs to work in a pandemic/fever clinic being set up on the Royal Darwin Hospital site in response to the current COVID-19 evolving situation.

This clinic will be led by Infectious Diseases physicians with support from Top End Health Service Public Health Unit. Full personal protective equipment training will be provided. The clinic will be open 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm.

The clinic team will include: admin officer, senior nurse (N5), GP or Registrar and IFD Specialist.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment of patients with suspected COVID-19 both on an appointment and walk in basis
  • Risk assessment/clinical assessment and sample collection
  • Liaison with Top End Health Service public health unit and Royal Darwin Hospital Infectious Disease team with respect to appropriate management plan for patients
  • Opportunity to be involved in guideline development and national research studies currently being established in light of this novel virus
  • Opportunity to gain experience in pandemic planning responses

Remuneration arrangements will be negotiated.
