We are seeking an experience Family Violence Director to join GenWest and lead our Integrated Family Violence team on a 6-month fixed term contract.
About the role:
The Director, Integrated Family Violence Services, is responsible for delivery of high-quality integrated family violence services and programs that reflect GenWest’s strategic direction and core values.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- A hands on approach to operational management and supervision of five service streams - integrated family violence services, first response, client residency management, counselling and case management, personal safety and risk assessment.
- Ensures the consistency of organisational practices across all five streams including structured risk assessment and mitigation processes, and compliance with key organisational, legislative and funding body standards.
- Ensures Clinical governance and high-quality client service delivery is current across all five streams through delivery, development and monitoring of relevant workplace policies, procedures and processes using client led and evidence-based practise.
- Implements as required by law, reform, best practise or direction from the CEO change to policy or practise. Manages the associated change process, implementation, and ongoing compliance, identifying improvements and success through formal and informal reporting structures.
- Drives the development of the integrated family violence services work plan in tandem with the IFVS managers to achieve delivery and advocacy for accessible, culturally appropriate services for women and children who experience family violence.
- Oversee the integrated family violence services budget in line with program goals and agreed targets and ensure sound financial management so that all reporting obligations and budgetary goals are met, and sustainable.
- Supported by People & Culture takes a leading role in organisation and sector capability building including leadership development for direct reports, supervision of the mandatory minimum qualifications policy and development of pipelined talent for the future. Particularly support greater employment of community members with cultural knowledge and experience, and/or lived experience who may have barriers entering and building careers in family violence support.
- Build, lead and actively participate in cross-stream mechanisms including professional development, relevant committees and events, facilitating knowledge building and collaboration between the IFVS stream and the wider organisation
About you:
- AASW Membership (current or eligible) with required AASW recognised supervision
- Tertiary qualifications in social work or a related field required with relevant post-graduate qualifications highly regarded.
- Extensive leadership experience in the family violence sector or those impacted by domestic, family or sexual violence
- Understanding of the specialist family violence sector in Victoria and current working knowledge of sector reforms
- Significant experience in supervising and leading teams working in the family violence sector for successful achievement of program goals and tasks.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of government policies as they relate to integrated family violence services
- Ethics, integrity and excellent interpersonal and high-level communication skills that support the capacity to lead, inspire and develop staff, and promote and represent GenWest.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high-quality services, feminist policy and practice, and a culture of respect, collaboration and continuous learning.
- A high level of resilience with demonstrated ability to work in a complex challenging environment
- A current or willingness to undergo Working with Children Check, and National Police Check
