ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Family Violence Case Manager to join our After Hours team in offering specialist face-to-face response to victim survivors and their children who have experienced family violence within the Western Metropolitan or Brimbank Melton regions.

The Afterhours Case Manager provides vital face to face responses and phone support for women and families who have recently left their home due to family violence, providing short term interventions that often include family violence education, conducting needs assessment, safety planning and risk assessments, completing referrals to internal/external services and various other trauma informed supports that may be required to address the immediate needs during a crisis.

The support provided is culturally safe and individually customised to suit the specific needs of each individual and their unique circumstances.

The position is available on a fixed term basis until 30 June 2024 for a minimum 15 hours per week, and is paid at GenWest EA Level 4 or 5, pay point negotiable dependent on experience (ranges from $75,000 - $88,000) pro rata EFT + 10% superannuation.

Please note: As per the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications for Specialist Family Violence Practitioners, to be eligible for this position you will hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, or equivalent qualification. Applicants with a relevant qualification, or a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience, or significant cultural knowledge will be required to work towards an equivalent qualification with specified timeframes. All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police and a Working with Children Check. You also need to provide international police check if you have worked overseas within the last ten years for a minimum of twelve months and provide a COVID-19 vaccination history or authorised medical exemption.
