Role

The Family Support Program provides outreach case managed support to families that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Melbournes west. It is common for families to have had a history of housing instability and homelessness.

Wombat's family program:

• Is a small team of two supported by a team leader
• provides support to clients in transitional housing as well as those on outreach
• Assists families to develop their skills to maintain independent living
• Works with people to address the issues that are creating their housing instability, which are often complex and interwoven.
• Assists families to find long term housing

Your Qualities

• You will relish the opportunity to work in a passionate tight knit team and have the ability to work autonomously as required

• You will have the ability to provide holistic support to people with complex behaviours and an understanding of some of the challenges this brings.

• You will have a working knowledge of the housing & support system, the causal factors of homelessness and enjoy thinking creatively about interventions for families.

• You will have an openness to self-reflection, feedback, learning and developing as part of a small team

• You’ll be up for a challenge – every day will be different
