It has a clear commitment to social justice and stands in solidarity with disadvantaged people of all social, cultural and religious backgrounds with a particular sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. The school provides holistic learning experiences that address the social needs of students, and promotes their emotional, cognitive, spiritual and academic development.
EREA provides a supportive, flexible working environment where we are committed to supporting the ongoing professional learning of all staff members including specific targeting programs as identified. We endeavour to employ people that have the drive and motivation to work towards successful outcomes for our young people.
The role of the Head of Flexible Learning Practice is to work with young people, families, colleagues, community organisations and stakeholders to build young person voice and agency through the use of the school principles and a common ground approach.
The successful candidate will lead and build capacity within staff to work in a trauma informed relational way. This will include working in line with the philosophy and practice of the school through the use of school principles, building relationships, working agreements and developing a strong positive learning community.
This position would be well suited to candidates with a background as a senior youth worker or similar. We encourage all candidates who feel they meet this criteria to apply.
As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we also encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people of all abilities, cultures, orientations and backgrounds.
