The WNSW PHN is one of 31 Primary Health Networks across Australia established by the Australian Government to support frontline health services. Our focus is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of primary health care, ensuring people receive the right care in the right place at the right time. To achieve this, we work closely with general practice, Aboriginal Medical Services and other health care providers, Local Health Districts, non-government organisations and the broader community.

The Role:

The Contracts and Procurement Business Partner is responsible for supporting and assisting with the management of procurement, tendering, contracting processes and leases within the business.

This includes, providing advice to staff on achieving good practice for all strategy, procurement, tendering and contracting activity whilst building corporate capability in contract administration, compliance, governance and management.

These roles will work closely with relevant internal staff and commissioned services providers to facilitate the adoption and implementation of the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) Cultural Safety and Clinical Governance Frameworks. 

The position can be based in Bathurst, Dubbo or Orange.

Selection criteria:

Essential:

  • Bachelor level degree qualification in commercial law, or Bachelor level degree in business / commerce and a relevant graduate diploma (law / contracting / procurement)
  • Relevant experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, and procurement processes including tendering
  • Demonstrated experience preparing quality business documents, including plans, reports, briefing papers and senior level correspondence
  • Demonstrated experience in interpersonal, consultation, negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven high level attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Current C class open drivers’ licence

Desirable:

  • Proven ability to provide timely, integrated and strategic advice and to develop and implement innovative solutions to address significant organisational issues
  • Previous experience working in the health sector and an understanding of the issues associated with primary health care service delivery in urban and rural settings
