About the opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Case Manager for our Kinship Care program. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive case management and case work services to children and young people residing in Kinship placements, as well as their caregivers.

As a Senior Case Manager you will:

  • Conduct thorough carer assessments to ensure the well-being of children and young people in Kinship placements.
  • Establish and maintain strong connections between children/young people, their carers, and community-based support services.
  • Collaborate with the team leader to contribute to the ongoing development of case practice within the organisation.
  • Engage with families facing complex needs and entrenched family patterns, offering tailored support and intervention.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to develop innovative approaches in collaboration with the team, mentoring them in effective implementation when working with families, children, and young people.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma of Community Welfare Work or a related discipline. Degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Science or a related discipline would be advantageous.

You will also have:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a case management role (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in the child and family welfare field. This experience will be in Child Protection, Out of Home Care, Family Services and/or other services working with vulnerable families and children.
  • Outstanding case management and case work skills.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues in relation to children ‘at risk’.
  • Comprehensive assessment skills.
