Your new role

We’ve reshaped our fundraising and marketing team to grow our income and ensure greater impact for the people we serve. This has created an opportunity to lead the development of our philanthropic income that will see you grow and deepen relationships with our key supporters to achieve financial targets.

Your impact will include:

  • Developing the philanthropy strategy across major donors, corporate partners, trusts and foundations, and bequests.
  • Managing a portfolio of key individuals and corporate partners ensuring income targets are achieved.
  • Developing compelling cases for support and delivering bespoke activities including program visits and donor events as part of an engagement strategy.
  • Building a pipeline of new philanthropic support from within and outside the current Uniting supporter base.
  • Overseeing the bequest and trust and foundation programs, maintaining relationships with funders and securing future income from gifts in Wills.

Based at our Lonsdale Street office in Melbourne’s CBD, this role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement with 2 days per week in the office. We’re also open to considering part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

Some travel across Victoria and Tasmania is required to meet with donors and partners (approximately 10 times per year as a guide).

Your skills and experience

You may already be leading within philanthropy, or you may be ready to step into your next career opportunity, either way, we’re looking for someone who can build genuine relationships and grow sustainable support for Uniting’s work.

You will bring with you:

  • Demonstrated experience of leading a fundraising role within a philanthropy discipline
  • Success in developing and implementing donor stewardship and engagement plans to drive revenue growth
  • Success in nurturing and managing relationships of high value and/or corporate supporters and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capabilities in budget management, reporting and analysis
