About the role

Wesley Vocational Institute delivers quality training within the VET sector and is excited to offer a unique opportunity to someone with a passion for accredited training, who is inspired by the idea of working at the grass roots level of our communities and wants to be part of a small and dedicated team.

The right person for this role will possess a sound understanding of the VET industry. Ideally having experience in providing positive learning experiences, ability to gather quality evidence and support reasonable adjustment during the assessment process. They will also be familiar with the challenges of delivering nationally accredited training in various environments, including the workplace, classroom and blended e-learning remote delivery to a range of client groups.

Understanding of the recognition process will allow you to consider a person’s existing set of skills to enable design of a learning program that is adaptable to each student’s needs. The preferred candidate should have current experience in the Ageing, Home Care, Disability and/or Community Services environments as well as accredited training. Being comfortable with technology and adaptable to delivering accredited training face to face, as well as through remote learning platforms, would be highly beneficial.

Essential criteria

  • identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, along with letter of Aboriginality from a community-controlled organisation
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (must hold upgraded units TAELLN401 and TAEASS502)
  • accredited qualifications in the Ageing, Home Care, Disability and/or Community Services industry or demonstrable ability to Skills Map to relevant Units of Competency
  • computer literacy
  • demonstrated experience delivering quality training and assessment in the VET sector
  • at least 80 hours evidenced currency within your specialty industry within last two years
  • evidence of continuing professional development in your specialty industry and the VET sector
  • current Driver’s Licence.
