About the Role

As a Roster Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and optimising staff rosters to ensure efficient, compliant, and person-centred service delivery for Homecare consumers. You’ll be responsible for maintaining continuity of care, supporting staff wellbeing, and ensuring all rostering practices comply with the SCHADS Award and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and publish rosters to meet client care needs and workforce availability
  • Respond to unplanned absences and rostering adjustments promptly
  • Ensure roster compliance with SCHADS Award conditions, including hours, breaks, and allowances
  • Forecast staffing needs based on client trends, referrals, and growth
  • Maintain accurate records in client management and rostering systems (Alayacare)
  • Communicate roster changes effectively to clients and support workers
  • Support performance management by providing accurate workforce data and reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement and workforce planning initiatives
  • Ensure contract hours, leave coverage, and staffing costs are effectively managed
  • Adhere to Wesley Mission’s Work Health and Safety requirements, Code of Conduct, and other organisational policies

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in rostering, scheduling, or administration roles
  • Strong understanding of SCHADS Award rostering conditions
  • High-level communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work on a rotating roster, including on-call
  • Proficiency with rostering software (Alayacare desirable) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail, initiative, and customer service focus
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, with experience liaising with frontline staff and management
  • Willingness to affirm Wesley Mission’s vision, mission, and values

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in aged care, disability, or community services
  • Experience in not-for-profit or faith-based organisations
  • Qualifications in business administration, community services, or human resources
  • Understanding of rostering KPIs and reporting

Additional Employment Requirements

As this is an aged care-related position, the successful applicant must:

  • Undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement
  • current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Vaccinations (as per public health orders)
