About the role

Wesley Mission is seeking a Psychologist to join the Wesley Dalmar Family Preservation team. The position offers challenging and rewarding opportunities to work within a trauma-informed framework in the family home with children and birth parents residing between Taree and Grafton to provide therapy to address underlying psychological needs and enhance parenting capacity to prevent children moving unnecessarily into foster care.

Essential criteria

• Degree qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree from a recognised tertiary institution) in Psychology, and has a full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, or working towards same
• Significant experience providing psychological support to families
• Comprehensive understanding of key risk factors and the effect of trauma on childhood development
• Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to write reports to a professional standard
• Availability to work flexible working hours including some evenings
• Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence

Remuneration

Salary and conditions of employment are based on the SCHADS (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award) Level 6, with generous salary packaging opportunities + fully maintained vehicle.
