WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation and has been rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals for almost 40 years. WIRES' mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.
WIRES operate a dedicated Wildlife Rescue Office assisting wildlife and the community across Australia 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, providing rescue advice and assistance for approximately 150,000 animals annually.
WIRES also provides significant national support for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation across Australia, and is proactively collaborating with major partners to support the recovery of wildlife habitat and the long-term preservation of native species in the wild.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Individual Giving Executive's role is focused on growing the Individual Giving and Direct Mail Programs to maximise donor acquisition, engagement and retention, to increase the organisation's long-term capacity to rescue, rehabilitate and preserve more wildlife.
We are seeking a hands-on candidate that thrives on managing all aspects of campaigns from start to finish and working on several campaigns simultaneously. The ideal candidate is proactive, positive, and enjoys working both independently and collaboratively.
This is a 12-month full-time contract with likely extension for the right candidate. Part-time work may also be an option for the right applicant. The role is a hybrid position, with a blend of office based work at Brookvale and regular work from home.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage WIRES Appeals, Regular Giving, Direct Mailouts for Donors & Supporters, and Mid-Tier Donor Development
- Project manage campaigns end to end, ensuring issues are flagged in a timely manner, deadlines are met and KPI’s are achieved
- Deliver and optimise delivering and optimise at least 4 annual appeals
- Grow WIRES Regular Giving Program and ensure monthly updates are provided for program participants
- Manage Direct Mail requirements for Donors and Supporters including Supporter Updates and Surveys
- Work closely with the broader team to develop and execute initiatives to improve donor acquisition and retention
- Craft donor-focused communications that inspire donor engagement with compelling calls to action
- Develop comprehensive internal and external briefs as required for data segmentation, creative design, additional copywriting where needed, and mail house fulfilment, ensuring all items are completed on time and within budget
- Lead the development and implementation of a telemarketing program to oversee annual upgrades and to support regular giving acquisition
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure services provided are delivered as agreed
- Work with colleagues to leverage opportunities to ensure campaigns are integrated and connected across ultiple channels
- Manage and report on budget income, expenditure and program growth.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Minimum 2+ years relevant fundraising experience with Individual Giving
- Demonstrated experience implementing successful campaigns and growing fundraising channels
- Experience using insights to make data-driven decisions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management experience & the ability to multi-task
- Experience working with systems such as CRM's, databases, and email marketing platforms
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to engage and retain donors
- Highly organised, reliable, efficient & detail-orientated
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly regarded
