Candidates for the role should be passionate about early childhood development and the work that is undertaken within it. They should be able to show open and transparent communication skills in building respectful relationships with children, families and educators. Candidates should also be capable in learning through collaboration and critical reflection.

About Windsor Community Children’s Centre (WCCC)

We are a not-for-profit, community-run long day care and kindergarten, providing care and education to children aged from 6 months to 5 years. We are in the heart of Windsor, Melbourne. We are forty two years young with a proud history of providing accessible quality education and care. WCCC is a professional work environment where our staff and educators are respected, valued and cared for. WCCC has places for 54 children across four rooms. All WCCC rooms implement a holistic program, centred on play-based learning and intentional teaching, while creating learning environments that are responsive to all children's strengths, skills and interests. WCCC’s kitchen has pride of place in the Centre and provides nutritious pescatarian meals to the children and staff every day. As well as providing an anti-bias, being equal curriculum. We are a child safe environment and are committed to children’s protection from abuse.

The Role

Be one of 4 full time educators working with children aged 6mths to 2yrs, up to 12 children per day.

You will have the opportunity to build knowledge and experience through responsibilities such as

• Use the centre’s philosophy and approved learning frameworks to assist in implementation of a curriculum that caters to the individual needs of the children whilst balancing a mix of intentional teaching, child-led and guided experiences.
• Work in a collaborative manner with both the leadership team and management as a way of engaging in reflection and providing a challenging and safe environment.
• Be part of a larger team of educators that come together in a reciprocal and respectful manner to support, learn and empower each other.
• In conjunction with the rest of your team, using strategies to observe, plan and assess learning ensuring all children are supported in their journey.
• Throughout your time within the centre there will be multiple opportunities for professional development.

About You

We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:

• Certificate 3 or working towards.
• An enthusiasm to work with our youngest children aged 0-2yrs
• Current First Aid Certificate/Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
• Current Working with children check
• Current protecting children-Mandatory reporting and other obligations
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Patience and sense of humor
• Self aware and ability to receive feedback for improvement
