About the opportunity:

We currently have a full-time parental leave position for a suitably qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join a team of warm and professional educators at our ELC in Frankston commencing in June 2020 until June 2021. Working directly with Kindergarten children (25 contact hours and 12.6 non-contact hours), this leadership position will support the team in the implementation of a quality Educational Programs fostering strong connections with children and families through positive interactions. In return, you will be supported in your development as an Early Childhood Educator, allowing creativity and enterprising practice in an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Set in a stunning natural environment, Frankston ELC is a caring and supportive learning environment for children. From extensive, interactive outside play spaces – complete with chickens and veggie garden – to dedicated workrooms and separate sleep rooms for infants, children will be encouraged to thrive.

We have a fantastic existing curriculum that includes a nature program that takes place at the local botanical gardens, off site sport program that is facilitated by Monash OT students and a literacy program at the Monash University Library with Educations students.

To be successful for this role, you will possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree in early education or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in working within the National Quality Framework
  • Demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Leadership
  • Ability to work within and support a child centred curriculum
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of behaviour support, guidance techniques and the development of positive
  • Willingness to undertake and maintain HLTAID004 Provide First Aid
