Qualifications & Experience:

To thrive in this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in fresh produce procurement and team management.
  • A deep appreciation for the advantages of organic produce production and consumption.
  • A commitment to community service.
  • Early morning riser, ready to take on the day.
  • Possession of a manual driver's license, as you'll be responsible for driving a 4.5-tonne truck to the morning market 2-3 times a week. A forklift driver's license is also advantageous.
  • Availability for a 5-day work week (ideally Sunday - Thursday due to buying responsibilities).
  • Strong, relevant work and character reference are essentials.
  • While not mandatory, an interest in or experience with other store sections is welcomed.

Tasks & responsibilities:

As the produce buyer, your full-time salaried position will involve the following key responsibilities:

  • Procuring the highest quality organic produce and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Maintaining impeccable standards in display and storage.
  • Efficient pricing and invoice management.
  • Effective leadership as apart of the management team; reporting to the Produce Department Manager and the Store Manager.
