Instructional Designer

Women's Health Victoria

About the organisation

Women’s Health Victoria is a statewide women’s policy, health promotion, advocacy and support service with a proud history of over 29 years. We are an independent, feminist, not-for-profit organisation. We advocate and build system capacity for a gendered approach to health that reduces inequalities and improves health outcomes for women.

We offer the opportunity to be involved in making a difference in the lives of women and people of diverse genders in Victoria. Our work covers five priority areas: Sexual and Reproductive Health, Prevention of Violence Against Women, Mental Health and Body Image, Women’s Equality and Women with Cancer.

About the role

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to design a course in Contributing to Primary Prevention of Family Violence and Violence Against Women.

This course will provide accredited training to those who work in primary prevention ‘contributor’ roles. These are workers who are located across a broad range of sectors or disciplines who may undertake some prevention work as part of their role but is not their primary focus. There is a need to build understanding among professionals within universal services, such as teachers, community health workers, early learning teachers, and maternal and child health nurses, as they have such broad reach into all parts of the community. However, prevention contributors could also include alcohol and other drug (AOD) workers, sports administrators, local government staff and human resources staff. Prevention contributors can support, complement and enhance the work of the specialist prevention workforce.

This course is not designed as training for specialist primary prevention practitioners.

Your approach

You will have experience as an Instructional Designer in designing courses from a feminist perspective using adult learning principles. You will also be able to:

  • Work to strict deadlines and work to be completed by 2nd November 2023
  • Work in a collaborative team environment
  • Be self-directed

If you are looking for a great role in an innovative, and supportive, feminist environment, where you can make a significant difference to the lives of women, girls and people of diverse genders across Victoria, check out the position description below and get your application in.
