THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual with experience in designing, developing and delivering literacy, numeracy, employment, life and social skills programs to support our work with young people at risk.

You will work with young people of secondary school age, to develop and deliver a dynamic program during school terms and will support educational outcomes for young people who are referred to the Whitelion learning program at the ILC Mt Gambier, through the Department of Education's Flexible Learning Options program.

Case managers will support Young People in face to face engagement with a holistic and strength base approach. You will also provide meaningful opportunities to develop life and social skills along with supporting students to gain vital employability skills.

ABOUT YOU

• You will have demonstrated experience in Case management in a flexible learning space, with the ability to research and develop training tools to meet the needs of students.
• You will have previously worked with at risk young people who have experienced trauma.
• Additionally you will have excellent organisational and communication skills (including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner).
• An understanding of SACE requirements and patterns would be desirable.
• A qualification in Youth Work is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in education, youth work, social work, social sciences or similar is required.
• Training in relevant child protection legislation.
• A current working with children check and driver's license (and willingness to undergo a Whitelion Police Check)
