White Box Enterprises (WBE) is a social enterprise intermediary on a mission to transform Australia’s employment system. Our goal is to create 5,000 jobs by 2030 for Australia’s overlooked and underserved jobseekers. We build, and support others to build and replicate large-scale, sustainable social enterprises that provide meaningful, award-wage jobs, as well as training and support, to people who are excluded from the mainstream employment market.
Our work is supported by various Governments and philanthropists and increasingly we play a critical role in advocating to government in order to create an environment that supports the establishment and growth of these incredible organisations.
White Box is scaling up, and we need the support of a Marketing & Communications Manager to help us reach our goals.
We’re excited about this brand-new role! Based in Brisbane or Melbourne, you’ll oversee WBE’s marketing and communication’s strategy and activities. We’re still a start-up and this is our first marketing and communications role, so there’s a lot to do but there’s also a lot of support. Your role is to help us to increase our reach across the sector and bring supporters on the journey.
We need someone who can think outside the box, and understand our unique environment. The role is strategic and operational and requires someone who can work at both levels.
This role is ideal for a clever operator with at least 5 years’ experience, looking to take the next step in their marketing and communications career in a position that changes people’s lives.
In a nutshell, this role will:
You’ll take the wheel and hold responsibility for developing our marketing strategy, and then know how to put your foot to the floor when implementing it across a range of audiences, products, and services. You’ll work with key internal and external stakeholders to build and implement marketing solutions in line with business needs, and be heavy on processes, yet fluid in your approach to getting things done. Curveballs don’t discourage you, because you’ve mastered the art of mapping the steps involved in achieving targets and leading people to an outcome.
As a rapidly scaling start-up, we’re passionate about expanding our reach across the social enterprise sector.
You’ll drive content and asset development to support the growth of our brand, using data synthesisation and insights to inform strategy and adapt the organisation’s approach. Managing stakeholders’ expectations and your adaptable communication style will ensure we achieve desired outcomes and targets. You’ll enjoy challenging the norms - leading continuous improvement and efficiencies in workflow processes is your definitely your thing.
Encouraging and channelling creativity into a strategic, structured approach will be key in this role, but never at the expense of our core mission and values.
