The Institute of Culture & Society (ICS) located on the Parramatta campus of Western Sydney University, conducts interdisciplinary and collaborative research that addresses the cultural challenges and contradictions of an increasingly globalised, heterogeneous and technologically mediated world. The Young and Resilient Research Centre (Y&R), embedded within ICS, embraces an integrated mode of research and development, education, training and enterprise to research and develop technology-based products, services and policies that strengthen the resilience of young people and their communities, enabling them to live well and participate fully in social and economic life.
The Senior Communications Officer is a critical role within a fast-moving, high performing and collaborative team. The role is responsible for supporting and, in some instances, leading internal and external communications across the Young & Resilient Research Centre to ensure effective promotion of our research and expertise. The role works under the umbrella of the Centre’s Impact and Knowledge Translation Portfolio, and will operate under the guidance of the Centre’s Research Officer – Impact.

The Senior Communications Officer will work under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Centre’s Research Officer – Impact, who oversees the team’s impact and knowledge translation activities, including communication and marketing. They are also expected to work closely with the Centre Manager and the rest of the team to be familiar with the research activities that are to be communicated.
Remuneration: Higher Education Worker Level 6 – $62.09 per hour (includes 25% casual loading).
