We empower victim-survivors experiencing family violence, and secure their safety by providing a 24/7 family violence response phone line, risk assessments, safety planning, emotional and material support, advocacy, information, referrals and court support

 Job Description

The Manager of Clinical Governance will support the Clinical Services Director in overseeing clinical governance and high-risk clinical matters for all Safe Steps services. You will enable managers to provide supervision, training, and professional development to frontline staff in order to deliver best practice family violence crisis services.

You will manage the clinical governance systems and processes within Safe Steps and also play a significant role on our complex case panel.

You will work collaboratively with the broader Executive Team driving high quality and consistent services. By championing best practice clinical leadership and guidance, you will enable our Client Services teams to deliver best practice and meet all contractual service levels agreed with our funder.

Through delivery of effective professional clinical standards, you will ensure both individual clients and our funders receive the most effective outcomes and contribute to an improved value proposition for Safe Steps Client Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide authoritative clinical advice and guidance to staff
  • Develop, implement, and review the clinical plans aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals
  • Ensure appropriate clinical standards and governance measures are in place across all services
  • Monitor clinical risk, clinical governance, and clinical performance at organisational and individual levels
  • Maintain practice models, policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure they are kept relevant and up to date
  • Ensure contract deliverables and clinical outcomes are met
  • Support development of a Clinical Outcomes Framework and reporting to the CEO
  • Support development of evidence-based clinical service models for new services
  • Respond to Client/Funder information requests
  • Provide complex client case/conditions consultations and support
  • Participate in accreditation requirements

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other relevant qualification and experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with victim-survivors of family violence in a crisis context, including crisis interventions, mental health, relationship, and child abuse issues
  • Extensive clinical supervision experience, both individual and group
  • Leadership and program management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, design, implement and review effective systems for clinical quality assurance, using clinical guidelines and a current evidence base
