Westgate Community Initiatives Group Ltd (WCIG) is a well-known, community based not for profit organisation that is committed to improving lives through practical responses to unemployment and disadvantage in Northern and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
We currently have an opportunity for a permanent full-time Employment & Ongoing Support Consultant to work from our Northcote, Doreen and Epping sites. Please note that employment will initially be at 0.8 FTE in line with business requirements during the current pandemic and you will be working remotely at this stage. This position has become available due to internal promotion and an exciting period of growth within our organisation.
Reporting to the DES Site Manager, this is a pivotal position that aims to place people with a psychiatric, sensory, and/or physical disability into full-award wage employment and assist them in maintaining that employment. You will have the ability to recognise potentials in jobseekers and ensure the Disability Service Standards are systematically implemented and maintained. You will be responsible for post placement support once someone has secured employment or education.
This critical role is responsible for direct marketing to employers, contract compliance, assessments, establishing and developing jobseekers and maintaining their employment. Organisation and attention to detail will be second nature and your commitment to deliver effective and efficient services that result in ongoing viability. You will adapt and be responsive to community and key stakeholder needs.
