Waller Legal is a high profile institutional abuse legal practice helping survivors of sexual abuse recover compensation. We litigate civil personal injury claims and operate under a trauma-informed practice model.

We are seeking a highly organised, confident and self-motivated person with good attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal skills to work as our receptionist.

Waller Legal provides a collegiate and supportive workplace environment with access to ongoing training and development.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Being the first point of telephone contact for all existing and new clients and other professionals
  2. Answering and managing phone calls
  3. Meeting and greeting clients
  4. Managing some outgoing and incoming mail
  5. Information and document management, including file organisation and managing electronic databases
  6. Maintaining office supplies
  7. Assisting when needed with any IT issues including phone and computer updates
  8. Assisting with other IT related tasks such as website, email, calendar and database management

Key selection criteria:

  1. A demonstrated commitment to social justice
  2. Experience working as reception or administrative support in the legal or health community sectors
  3. Good phone manner and call management skills, including ability to maintain a calm and respectful manner with a diverse range of people
  4. Exceptional interpersonal skills
  5. High level of discretion, confidentiality, professionalism and sensitivity
  6. Good attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  7. Strong work and customer service ethic
  8. Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work well under pressure
  9. Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as being an excellent team player
  10. Experience in providing IT support to a busy staff
  11. High level user skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps essential

Salary commensurate with experience.

Appointment to commence on 5 January 2021.
