Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. We work on the lands of the Gadigal, Wangal and Dharug people of the Eora Nation.
Every night, we support 200 women and children impacted by homelessness, domestic violence, and systemic disadvantage. Equally we seek to address the underlying causes of gender-based violence through primary prevention activities with communities and private and public entities that want to be a part of the global movement to end gender-based violence in a generation.
WAGEC Case Management teams work collaboratively with women, children and families in our Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and other WAGEC programs. Case managers provide trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centred case management to improve clients’ safety, wellbeing and independence
Senior Practitioners are highly experienced Case Managers who also undertake supervisory and leadership duties to support the team and Service Manager. They offer on-site support and risk management for accommodation-based programs. They provide advice and mentoring for staff, including acting as Service Manager on an as- needs basis and facilitating operational management tasks in the absence of the Service Manager.
This role is based at WAGEC’s SHS crisis accommodation sites and works primarily with women and children who are living in crisis and transitional housing.
In addition to offering practical support to clients based at WAGEC’s refuge site, such as support with shared living arrangements, and movements in and out of the site, the role is responsible for supporting a caseload of approximately 12-15 cases at any one time.
This is a full-time role, initially until 30 June 2025 with a view to being made permanent after this. It is based in Potts Point.
