The Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is looking to employ a worker with OHS experience as an OHS Information and Website Organiser based within the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Unit.
VTHC is the peak body for unions in Victoria. It provides industrial support for affiliated unions and runs campaigns to promote the interests of Victorian workers.
The OHS Unit’s role is to work with unions and stakeholders across the community to identify workplace safety and rights issues, educate Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and workers generally about their safety and rights and support and organise them in enforcing these when they have been put at risk. It also campaigns on OHS and Workers Compensation issues to improve the lives of all workers, including injured workers.
The position is currently being performed at 4 days per week but hours are negotiable for the successful candidate.
VTHC has an attractive collective agreement including a monthly RDO (in recognition of occasional additional hours) plus 12% superannuation. The position will be paid at Level 7 ($103,623 FTE) in our classification structure.
The position will be based out of the VTHC offices in Carlton.

If after reading this you’re not sure you meet every criteria, but have the passion and determination to make positive policy change for Victorian workers we encourage you to apply.
We are union. We stand united as part of a great movement of workers. Our diversity is our strength. Our solidarity is our power. We respect and take care of each other.
Prejudice and discrimination – including misogyny, racism, homophobia and all other hatreds – have no place in our movement. We rise together.
Today and every day we commit ourselves to achieving justice, fairness, equality and dignity for all workers.
Solidarity forever.
A Statement of reasonable adjustments is available on request for people with a disability.
The position reports to the Secretary and Assistant Secretary through the OHS Lead Organiser.
