As a division of Vision Australia, Seeing Eye Dogs strives to develop and maintain innovative, high-quality dog guide services to enhance the mobility and independence of people who are blind or have low vision.

We follow the journey of a Seeing Eye Dog from their breeding and initial development as puppies, through their advanced training to ensure they can safely guide their future partners, to matching them with a client and finally ending with their happy retirement after eight years of dedicated service.

About the Opportunity

• Collaborate with the SED Client Service Manager and SED Training Program Manager to coordinate intake, funding identification, client allocation to instructors, training program planning, and support the Instructor team to increase billable services.
• Review NDIS reporting activities to ensure continuation of current practices and increase successful results;
• Continually review, develop and deliver a curriculum of NDIS activities and information to support the development of the Instructor team’s understanding of various funding models
• Maintain currency on all relevant changes to NDIS operations to ensure VA SED compliance to government rules and regulations and explore and obtain funding from other income streams (e.g. Department of Veterans’ Affairs, My Aged Care);

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, Community Development, Social Work, Allied Health or relevant qualifications and experience;
• Ability to write complex plans and reports
• Client engagement experience and ability to assist clients to plan and develop goals
• Knowledge and experience with funding programs and working to targets
