About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring resident well-being. You'll provide compassionate care, collaborate with a dedicated team, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives. We offer both part-time and full-time opportunities to fit your schedule.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver high-quality clinical care, promoting resident physical, psychological, and social well-being. This includes:
- Continence management: Assessing, developing, and implementing continence programs.
- Skin integrity and wound management: Implementing strategies to prevent and manage pressure injuries and other skin concerns.
- Palliative care: Providing compassionate care to residents nearing end of life.
- Medication management: Administering medications accurately and safely, including psychotropic medications.
- Recognising and responding to deteriorating residents: Identifying early signs of decline and taking appropriate action.
- Pressure injury prevention: Implementing strategies to prevent pressure injuries.
- Managing weight loss: Assessing and addressing weight loss, developing individualised care plans.
- Dementia behaviour management: Utilising de-escalation techniques and providing person-centred care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure residents' needs are met, including daily living activities and dietary needs.
- Respond effectively to resident concerns and address feedback promptly.
- Champion continuous quality improvement and contribute to best practices.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 2 years' post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Proven experience working with older adults in a clinical or aged care setting.
- Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and regulations.
- Strong foundation in contemporary nursing theory and practice, with demonstrated knowledge of:
- Continence management principles
- Skin integrity and wound management strategies
- Palliative care principles and best practices
- Safe medication management, including psychotropic medications
- Techniques for recognizing and responding to deteriorating residents
- Pressure injury prevention and management strategies
- Nutritional assessment and weight loss management in older adults
- Dementia behaviour management approaches
- Infection prevention and control protocols and antimicrobial stewardship principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to compassionate and resident-centred care.
- Current Working With Vulnerable People Card.
