The Victorian Allied Health Professional Association (VAHPA) is a dynamic, member-led union representing Allied Health Professionals across Victoria. The Role

We are looking for a skilled and values-driven Communications Officer to shape and strengthen VAHPA’s voice across all platforms. You’ll play a central role in crafting timely, effective and engaging communications that mobilise members, promote campaigns, and enhance the union’s visibility and impact.

This position sits within VAHPA’s Campaigns, Research and Promotions Team and works closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure our communications reflect our purpose and values.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and distribute bulletins, newsletters and campaign materials
  • Manage VAHPA’s digital platforms, including social media, website and eDMs
  • Support the creation of multimedia content, including video and podcast material
  • Collaborate on campaign messaging and support media engagement
  • Help ensure consistent, accessible and strategic communication across all channels

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong commitment to union values and a sound understanding of representative democracy
  • Proven experience in written and visual communications across platforms
  • High digital literacy (WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva; Adobe or podcast/video tools desirable)
  • Experience supporting campaigns or events in union, advocacy or not-for-profit settings
  • Strong teamwork, time management and planning skills
