WHO WE ARE

The Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation drawing on over 50 years of expertise in cancer prevention through pathology services, cancer screening and vaccination registries. We have helped to reduce the mortality rate from cervical cancer in Victoria to half that of the rest of Australia. Our purpose aligns with the World Health Organization's Call to Action to eliminate cervical cancer for all women.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a Lead Project Officer to join our Clinical Education, Communications and Government Relations team on a 12-month maternity leave cover contract. In this role, you’ll help deliver nationally and state-funded cancer prevention initiatives, with a particular focus on healthcare professional engagement and cervical cancer elimination initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of projects under the National Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy
  • Support the delivery of healthcare professional engagement programs under ACPCC’s clinical education program and the Victorian Cancer Screening Framework
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in cancer screening and primary health
  • Provide data analysis and quantitative evaluation to projects and prepare high-quality project documentation, reports, and communications
  • Contribute to communication resource development and broader organisational projects as needed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced project officer who’s passionate about public health and cancer prevention. You’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (such as public health, epidemiology, biostatistics or science)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the health sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience delivering outcomes across multiple projects and stakeholder groups
  • Confidence using Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital collaboration tools such as project management software and PowerBI
  • Project management skills or qualifications
  • Experience in cervical cancer prevention (desirable)
