The Victorian Aboriginal Children and Young Peoples Alliance (the Alliance) is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) dedicated to improving outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people, and their families. We work to influence policy, elevate the voices of Aboriginal children and young people, and ensure Aboriginal community-led approaches are central to decision-making.
The Alliance advocates for systemic change that reflects the strength, rights, and resilience of Aboriginal communities, upholding principles of self-determination, cultural safety, and Aboriginal-led solutions.
The Manager – Projects is a leadership role responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of key initiatives led by the Alliance. The role supports a diverse portfolio of cross-sector projects that reflect the priorities of Alliance members and contribute to Aboriginal-led systems transformation.
Working closely with the Executive Manager, Alliance members, and project stakeholders, the Manager – Projects ensures that initiatives are culturally grounded, well-coordinated, and delivered on time and on budget. The role includes leading project teams, managing external consultants, and fostering strong relationships with ACCOs, government, and sector partners.
You are an experienced and values-driven project leader with a strong commitment to Aboriginal self-determination and community-led change. You bring proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects.
Your project management skills are matched by your ability to build trusted relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), government, and sector partners. You are highly organised, outcomes-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while ensuring cultural integrity and community voices remain central throughout project design and delivery.
Whether coordinating across teams, managing consultants, or engaging ACCOs and government, you bring a steady, inclusive approach and a deep commitment to supporting Aboriginal-led systems transformation.
We offer salary packaging, flexible work arrangements, including work from home and opportunities for professional development. We are a small, dedicated team who live and work across regional Victoria. We work directly with Aboriginal organisations to make a difference in their communities.
This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified position. Only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply, as permitted under Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (VIC).
