About the role

The Senior Program Manager Family Violence and Child and Family Services is responsible for the strategic oversight of Eastern VACCA’s Family Violence and Child and Family Services programs including staff, budget, liaison and partnerships with departments, compliance administration as well as supporting and overseeing family services and family violence sector development. A key function is to ensure that these programs are coordinated and managed in a manner which provides the best possible platform for the delivery of effective, quality, and timely responses. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that targets are achieved, funding is managed, and reporting and compliance requirements are fully met. This position is part of the Eastern VACCA Client Services Leadership Group.

About You

  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
  • Have a tertiary qualification in the field of social work, family violence or community services with a minimum of 5 years working experience working in the sector in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children, in particular experience in child and family, and family violence sectors.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; the capacity to liaise and negotiate with funding bodies, Orange Door Hubs, and other agencies; and the capacity to promote and represent VACCA in the community and with stakeholders, including funding bodies.
  • Demonstrated experience in program implementation, service planning including monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of standards.
  • Experience with working within a regulatory framework and reporting on a range of program data to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and strategic management and experience managing organisational change
  • Experience in leadership, people management, risk management, budget management, and reporting. 
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
