The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.
Our strength lies with our people.
As a Senior Case Manager in VACCA’s Family Services team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting Aboriginal children and families through culturally safe, trauma-informed care. As part of a skilled, multidisciplinary team, you’ll build strong relationships with families and partner agencies to develop tailored support plans that empower self-determination and create meaningful change.
In this role, you’ll actively engage and support parents through assertive outreach, group programs, and tailored strategies that build skills in parenting, child development, safety, antenatal care, and financial literacy. Using a strengths-based approach—such as mentoring, role modelling, and coaching—you’ll empower families to participate in cultural activities and community events that strengthen identity and connection.
You’ll assess family safety and wellbeing, respond to changing needs, and ensure the family’s voice guides every step of the support journey. Working with children in a trauma-informed, culturally safe way, you'll incorporate play, healing spaces, and cultural tools like Footsteps to Our Future to support their growth. You'll also lead care team meetings, collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold VACCA’s commitment to health, safety, and cultural integrity in all aspects of your work.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people to apply.
Applications should include a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria and current resume.
